Nicholas Loder is a Senior Project Officer, Assets division, NSW Land and Housing Corporation, Family and Community Services.  Since 2003 he has provided policy advice for all new construction and major refurbishments for the LAHC housing portfolio, technical advice on property assessment surveys, and specialist design advice on NDIS, access and Liveable Housing features.

Prior to working in state government Nicholas had more than eighteen years’ experience in various small to medium sized architectural firms, designing and documenting medium density housing, commercial, industrial and educational facilities and alterations and additions to early twentieth century private residences.

Nicholas is on various committees including the NSW Chapter Australasian Housing Institute, is an ex officio member of the advisory committee to the Home Modification Information Clearinghouse (UNSW) and until recently a member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s NSW Communities/Seniors Living Sub-Committee.

He is also a member of various associations including AAA, the Twentieth Century Society of NSW and the recently formed Universal Design Centre of Australia. Nicholas holds qualifications in architecture, the built environment and public sector management, holds CHP3 accreditation as a housing professional with AHI, is a trained tour guide and has recently embarked on further research on designing for diversity.
