Recommend John:

John is a leader and management professional with over 20 years experience working across various sectors including community and affordable housing, corporate real estate and residential real estate. John’s career started at the age of 15 working as a trainee property manager in Randwick, NSW. Since then, John has developed a broad pallet of experience: from working with small and large community housing providers in NSW and the Northern Territory to working with internally displaced people in Kenya. John’s passion lies in using organisational development and community development to better people’s lives.

In Feb 2015 John and his young family relocated from Sydney to Alice Springs to take up the role of Operations Manager at the Central Australian Affordable Housing Company, the NT’s first and only registered community housing provider. After 18 months with the organisation, John took a ‘break’ from the housing sector and began working with the Central Land Council’s Community Development Unit which took him from Yuendumu, NT to Balgo, WA. This work broadened John’s exposure to remote community life and the challenges faced today by Aboriginal communities. Now, in 2018, John has continued his journey in remote indigenous housing by returning to CAAHC as the Chief Executive Officer.

Outside of work John enjoys spending time in the outback with his young family, performing stand-up comedy and mountain biking.
