Scott NathoScott Natho has worked as a clinical psychologist since 1996 and has held the position of Senior Psychologist with The Park – Centre for Mental Health in Brisbane since 2002. In his present role Scott works in a high security in-patient setting to provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to adults with mental and developmental disorders.

Scott’s doctorate is in Anger and Violence Interventions with Mentally Ill Offenders. He has worked extensively with mentally ill offenders in individual and group settings as well as conducting reviews and evaluations for Illness Education and Anger Management Programs for mentally ill offenders. As part of his enduring interest in research to support good evidence based practice Scott has led and participated in numerous projects, including the two year Substance Abuse and Psychosis Intervention Project. He has a strong interest in the behavioural effects of trauma, particularly how people can manifest trauma experiences in suicidality and/or the use of alcohol and other drugs. The importance Scott attaches to these issues is evident in his work with the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP) where he has lectured for the past six years.

Scott has an enduring interest in education and has been a tutor, and currently lecturer, with Griffith University and he has presented widely at conferences and seminars. His many years of practical experience in mental health, coupled with his excellent training skills combine to ensure workshops that are highly engaging, thought provoking and practical.
