In 2013 the AHI has launched a series of Professional Practice Seminars in Australia and New Zealand. Professional Practice Seminars are defined as single session or short, often one-day meeting devoted to presentations on and active discussion of a specialised topic, usually at an advanced or professional level. 

Progressing Social Housing Reform, the first seminar in this series was launched in Auckland, New Zealand on 6thMarch 2013.  This one-day seminar brought together over 30 social and community housing professionals representing 18 organisations to explore policy and strategy to transform the social and affordable housing sector in New Zealand. 

Key speakers and working group discussions explored several key topic areas:

  • Partnerships for Social and Affordable Housing in NZ
  • Policies for Social Housing Reform
  • The Past, Present and Future

The Seminar was followed by the Networking Dinner with Hon Dr Nick Smith, Minister for Housing.
