Description

The AHI Victorian Branch would like to invite AHI Members and friends to a networking breakfast with Sally Rees, Team Leader Transitional Housing, Unison Housing

This event is a great opportunity for housing and tenancy staff to hear how a staff member in the community housing sector has taken on different roles in an organisation and how her perceptions have changed as she has moved into more senior positions. The event will also offer insights into surviving in organisational mergers and take us into the territory of how to achieve a work-life balance which fits best for us. In Sally's case, it is fitting in this AFL Grand Final week to explore the major part that women's football has played in Sally's life.

Make sure you all come along to the breakfast with your AFL club scarf or some other item to represent your AFL affiliations.

About the speaker:

Sally Rees, Team Leader Transitional Housing, Unison Housing

Sally started working in the social housing sector 14 years ago after no previous experience in the housing industry - she had completed a real estate agent certificate course! She started in a property administration role in the transitional housing program, moved into a housing worker role with more direct contact with people being housed, and has been a team leader in transitional housing for the past four years. During this time the organisation she was first employed with (Metrowest) merged with Yarra Community Housing which then merged into Unison Housing.

Outside of the workplace, Sally has had a long involvement with women's Australian Rules football. She was a founding member of the Darebin Falcons in 1990 where she played over 200 games and was club president for 10 years. She is a life member of the Darebin Falcons as well as with the Victorian Women's Football eague. She is currently the Director Female Football and Under 12 girls coach at Pascoe Vale Football Club in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
